More than 16.1 million American adults, (which is about 6.7% of the U. S. population 18 and over) are diagnosed with Major depressive disorder each year.  Depression impacts people differently and can manifest differently at different times in our lives. Most people have intermittent periods of feeling down or blue. It’s essential to seek out help before it reaches the level of major depressive disorder.

Symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder include:

  • Increased feeling of sadness or empty sensation

  • Increase of tearfulness

  • Decrease interest or pleasure in many activities
