Introducing the Safe and Sound Protocol: A Groundbreaking Listening Therapy for Emotional Regulation and Well-Being

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based therapeutic listening program designed to help individuals regulate their nervous systems, reduce stress, and improve social engagement. Rooted in polyvagal theory, SSP uses specially filtered music to stimulate the vagus nerve and promote a sense of safety and connection.

How SSP Works

SSP is a non-invasive intervention that works by:

  • Enhancing the ability to process and respond to sensory input

  • Supporting emotional resilience and reducing anxiety

  • Improving communication and social interaction skills

The protocol involves listening to acoustically modified music through headphones in a safe and supportive environment. It is delivered remotely under the guidance of a trained provider.

  • COVID long-haulers

The SSP Experience:

The Safe and Sound Protocol has transformed lives across the globe. With countless success stories, it's no wonder that families, therapists, and educators rely on SSP as a beacon of hope.

  1. Assessment & Preparation – A trained provider evaluates readiness and creates a personalized approach.

  2. Listening Sessions – Participants listen to the specially designed music over a period of days, at their own pace.

  3. Integration & Support – Follow-up activities and therapeutic support help reinforce the benefits.

This access is not billable to insurance and does not include any therapy sessions. This access is a tool used in addition to those services.

SSP for Kids & Adolescents

Children and teens struggling with anxiety, sensory sensitivities, or emotional regulation challenges can greatly benefit from SSP. By helping to create a sense of safety within the nervous system, SSP supports:

  • Emotional and behavioral regulation

  • Improved focus and attention

  • Greater social engagement and connection

  • Reduced stress and sensory overwhelm

Our therapists provide a supportive environment, tailoring the experience to meet each child's individual needs.

SSP for Adults

For adults dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, or nervous system dysregulation, SSP can be a powerful tool for restoring balance. Many adults experience benefits such as:

  • Enhanced emotional resilience

  • Decreased feelings of overwhelm and anxiety

  • Improved sleep and relaxation

  • Strengthened ability to connect with others

SSP is designed to fit into your lifestyle, through guided remote sessions.

“The first night I started SSP I literally felt my body melt into calmness. I had been dealing with what I’d call severe anxiety that just kept creeping into every crevice of my body. I didn’t have high expectations but the protocol has helped me take my anxiety and sensory issues down several notches. I’m forever grateful and this will be in my toolbox forever.”
